Troy
Troy was destroyed and rebuilt so many times with older versions laying under newer ones, but not neatly like layers of a cake. I dont know how archeologists can make sense of it all. Troy was the first walled city.

Hajia Sophia
First built as a Church by Justinian around 300 (dont quote me) Hajia Sophia is the engineering marvel of its day. Later it was converted to a Mosque all the Christian paintings were covered by the Muslims (they dont do relgious art is considered idolitry)

Make a wish
In the Hajia Sophia you dont have idolitry worship, but you can stick your finger in a hole and make a wish. (The wish thing is not part of their religion, but it is very much part of the building)

I left my heart in Istanbul
Shopping district away from the tourist scene in Istanbul. Hilly and lots of trolleys. Reminded us of San Francisco.
